Federal Court - New Judgment Subscription Alerts

The Federal Court has expanded its subscription offerings with the addition of the Judgments & Events by National Practice Area (NPA) email alerts.

Subscribers have the option to receive an email of judgments published each day by practice area, as well as an “All Judgments” option. Subscribers will also be alerted to any upcoming Court events, such as user-group meetings.

You can subscribe from the Federal Court website. Once your subscription is complete, you will receive an email for each of the lists you have subscribed to. The frequency of alerts varies depending on what judgments have been published on the day.

ALLA Conference 2018 - Call for Papers



Submissions are now open for the 2018 ALLA Conference!  


The 2018 Conference will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory at the Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade and there will opportunities to visit law libraries and enjoy the array of culinary and cultural highlights of Darwin.

Centred around the theme of Global Impact/Local Footprint, the Conference Committee is looking for papers and posters, including but not limited to those that address the themes:


  • Indigenous issues
  • Career development
  • Technology
  • Education
  • Presentations


There will be a variety of presentation formats and lengths. The Conference Committee welcomes a variety of proposals including:


  • Individual presentations
  • Panel discussions (multiple, complementary speakers on a single topic)
  • Practical workshop sessions
  • Digital - posters (with an optional additional hard copy submission)
  • Lightning talks (5/10 minute sessions)


Abstracts should be submitted to convenor@alla.asn.au and submissions close 5.00pm AEST on Friday, 15 September 2017.

Just a reminder that membership renewals for Australian Law Librarians' Association (ALLA) are due by the end of June.
In addition to various CPD and social events that ALLA organise for law librarians, your ALLA membership also entitles you to a discount to attend the 2018 ALLA conference in Darwin as well as a number of other discounts with other associations through ALLA's agreements with them. Elections for positions on the ALLA(WA) Committee for 2017/2018 will be held at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 26th July 2017 at DLA Piper, Level 31 Central Park, 152-158 St Georges Terrace, Perth.

Nominations are now called for office bearers and Committee Members for 2017/2018.

Pursuant to the Constitution and with the resignation of the 2016/2017 President, the ALLA(WA) is looking for members to nominate to join the Committee or, if interested, take the position of President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary

Nomination forms have been sent to current members of ALLA (WA), if you haven't received a nomination form and believe you should have, please contact Anne Young. If you would like to join ALLA (WA) please do so from the ALLA website.

Nomination forms are due to the ALLA(WA) Secretary by no later than COB Friday 30th June 2017.
