Icebreaker Breakfast

An icebreaker was held on Wednesday, 15 February, for members and prospective members in Blake Dawson's picturesque boardroom on the 32nd floor. The mouth-watering breakfast, sponsored by Thomson Reuters, was enjoyed by all (approximately 31) who attended. It was pleasing to see many familiar faces, some new ones and especially, Shane, Ken and Mercedes from Thomson Reuters. Philomena Humphries and Justin Booker from UWA gave a summary of the paper they presented at the 2011 ALLA conference in Canberra - Mind the gap! Legal research skills at university and in the workplace - or how I learned not to love Google . As we could all share in Philomena and Justin's experiences and challenges in imparting legal skills to others, a lively discussion from the floor ensued. Thank you to all who contributed to this pleasant early-morning function. A special thank-you goes to the Thomson Reuters crew for their support. Belinda Eisenhauer CPD and Events Sub-Committee
