Catalogue for the new Law Library

The Department of the Attorney General has updated their website so that it now includes the library catalogue of the Law Library at the David Malcolm Justice Centre. You can access the library catalogue here . The Law Library at the David Malcolm Justice Centre is at 28 Barrack Street and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am - 5pm. It is closed on public holidays. The Library is for the judiciary, government legal officers and members of the legal profession, and so it is not open to the public.

Just Launched: ALLA Connect

It's time to get connected. Last Week, ALLA Ltd. launched ALLA Connect , a program to provide members across the nation an opportunity to share ideas and build networks. The first program will run from 1 February to 31 May 2017. By joining the program, you can connect in a variety of ways to discuss a range of topics that you are passionate about, including: Business & Industry Intelligence Careers & Career Development Collection Management Corporate Governance Current Awareness Ebooks & Everything 'e' Intranets & Information Design Knowledge Management Legal Industry Stakeholder Engagement Training and eLearning  ALLA Connect gives you an opportunity to connect with members in two ways: one-on-one : the project team will connect you with an ALLA member in another division who has similar interests to you. Throughout the progam, the team will send you and your connection 'discussion sparks' to help keep the conversation

Call for Nomination - Certificates of Appreciation

There are some wonderful people in the ALLA that sometimes go unnoticed. To acknowledge these people, we are calling for nominations for Certificates of Appreciation. Union List looking for a new name!

You would have seen in this month's President's Corner that the WA Law Library serial holdings are in the process of going online. First published in 1998 and commonly known as the Union List, we are now looking for a new name to bring it into the new century. So have your say. Get creative and email your suggestions to allawaexec@gmail.com . There is a small prize for the most innovative name* with the winner to be announced at the End of Year Celebration on Wednesday 30th November 2016. A big thank you to FIRST Software Solutions for sponsoring this project. *The name needs to be unique in order to register the domain name.
